On Saturday, September 23, 2023, a team of lecturers from Bachelor of Mathematics Study Program at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), conducted Community Service (PkM) activities focusing on Numeration Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) at SMAN 1 Puri Mojokerto. The event, themed \u201cOptimizing Teacher Competence in Managing AKM Numeracy,\u201d was attended by high school teachers who are members of the Mojokerto Regency Mathematics Subject Teacher Association (MGMP). Inna Kuswandari, the leader of the PkM team, remarked, \u201cThrough this activity, we aim to elucidate the importance of numeracy competency knowledge for Mathematics teachers in classroom learning.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activity, held at the Hall of SMAN 1 Puri Mojokerto, drew the participation of 80 teachers from various schools in Mojokerto Regency and its surroundings. These included MA Unggulan Al-Kautsar, MAN 2 Mojokerto, MAN Kota Pasuruan, SMA Asy-Syaafi\u2019iyah, SMA Islam Walisongo, SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Mojosari, SMA Tamansiswa, SMAN 1 Bangsal, SMAN 1 Dawarblandong, SMAN 1 Gondang Kabupaten Mojokerto, SMAN 1 Mojosari, SMAN 1 Ngoro Kabupaten Mojokerto, SMAN 1 Pacet Mojokerto, SMAN 1 Puri Mojokerto, SMAN 1 Sooko Mojokerto, SMAN 1 Trawas, SMAN 2 Kota Mojokerto, SMAS Al-Multazam, SMAS Islam Diponegoro, SMAS Islam Miftaahussuhur, SMAS Islam Roudlotun Nasyiin, SMAS Unggulan Al Hidayah, and SMAS Wahid Hasyim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event commenced with remarks from relevant stakeholders, including the Head of MGMP and the Head of the PkM team from UNAIR. The core agenda was divided into two sessions: material delivery and assistance in creating AKM equivalent questions. Dr. Endah Budi Rahaju, M.Pd. from Universitas Negeri Surabaya, filled the material session, covering topics such as the background and objectives of the CMA, criteria for CMA numeracy, methods of creating AKM equivalents, and examples of AKM counterparts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second session, participants were grouped into three parallel classes, each accompanied by the UNAIR Mathematics PkM team. During this session, participants explored topics suitable for creating numeracy AKM equivalent questions with varying levels of difficulty, ranging from easy to higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) questions. The outcomes were presented and received feedback from the UNAIR Mathematics PkM team. As a follow-up, participants were tasked with creating AKM equivalent questions, comprising one Stem question with a minimum of three questions, with ongoing assistance from the UNAIR PkM team for subsequent publication as a collection of questions equivalent to AKM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the conclusion of the event, participants provided feedback through questionnaires related to the implementation of the day\u2019s activities. The responses were overwhelmingly positive, emphasizing the utility of the material and its systematic and communicative delivery. Participants also offered suggestions for future activities, expressing a desire for longer durations and more diverse content, such as dissecting OSN problems, training on the use of mathematics learning applications, and sessions on crafting scientific journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This PkM activity underscores the commitment of UNAIR\u2019s Mathematics Study Program to contribute to the enhancement of education quality in Indonesia, particularly in the field of Mathematics. It aligns with the fourth Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing quality education.
