The MarkasWalet team, led by M. Fairuzzuddin Zuhair, a 2014 Mathematics alumnus of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), achieved a remarkable feat in the LPDP Business Competition. The team, consisting of M. Taufiqul Yakin and Maulana Satria Aji, secured victory in the “Business Growth Plan” category during the summit event conducted by the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) on August 3, 2023.
A total of 6000 participating teams submitted business plans for rigorous evaluation by the LPDP Business Competition team. Following the selection process, the 10 best teams from diverse regions underwent guidance sessions and idea refinement with LPDP. Subsequently, the top 5 teams from each region were chosen to present their business concepts before a professional jury.
The MarkasWalet team, leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence technology, devised strategies for calculating swallow populations. Their focus on manufacturing improvements aimed to enhance swallow nest yields in Indonesia. The team introduced unique equipment facilitating efficient management and monitoring of bird populations for swallow farmers. Revolutionary of enzyme developments technology streamlined the once labor-intensive process of washing swallow nests with tweezers, significantly boosting the effectiveness of bird feather cleaning. Further enhancements in the Swallow Headquarters application’s development hold the potential for comprehensive integration within this ecosystem.
M. Fairuzzuddin Zuhair expressed the team’s commitment to making a positive impact on society, the environment, and the economic landscape in this sector. He emphasized that achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can be realized by local communities through the use of technology, dispelling traditional myths surrounding swallows.
The exceptional performance of the MarkasWalet team earned them a place in the national competition, competing against 20 teams from ten other regions in the same category. The team’s success in the LPDP Business Competition underscores the transformative potential of innovation, combining a strong work ethic with appropriate technology to bring about significant changes in the business sector. M. Fairuzzuddin Zuhair and the MarkasWalet team serve as an inspiration for the younger generation, encouraging them to persevere in their goals and seize opportunities in the face of adversity.
