As part of the ongoing Guest Lecture series, the Mathematics Study Program extended an invitation to speakers from Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania. This marks the second visit of the University’s team to the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UNAIR, following their initial collaboration with FST in May 2022.
During this second visit, Prof. Dr. Ana Maria Acu, who had previously participated in the first visit, was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Augusta Ratiu. Both esteemed academics hail from the Department of Mathematics, specializing in Analysis and Statistics.
The visit commenced with a Lecture Series forum attended by lecturers and students of the Department of Mathematics at FST Unair. This activity spanned two consecutive days on June 14-15, 2023. The first series, titled “New Bounds for Several Statistical Indicators,” was delivered by Prof. Dr. Augusta Ratiu. Following this, Prof. Dr. Ana Maria Acu served as the resource person for the second series, focusing on the topic “Aldaz-Kounchev-Render Operators and their Approximation Properties.”
