Accreditation serves as an official acknowledgment of the educational institution’s excellence, certifying its adherence to specific requirements or criteria. Typically, an institution’s accreditation is valid for five years, necessitating a re-evaluation (reaccreditation) to assess whether the institution’s quality aligns with the existing accreditation value, either maintaining, increasing, or decreasing.

In anticipation of the conclusion of the accreditation period on September 30, 2023, the Mathematics Study Program at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga (FST UNAIR), has undergone the reaccreditation process facilitated by the Independent Accreditation Institute for Natural and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA). Since mid-2022, meticulous preparation has been underway, involving the compilation of data on performance evidence, infrastructure, and essential documentation. Subsequently, these accreditation materials were submitted to the LAMSAMA team for processing, forming the basis for the initial assessment and validation during the field evaluation.

The field assessment for the accreditation of the FST UNAIR Mathematics Study Program transpired from August 30 to September 1, 2023. Prof. Dr. Roberd Saragih, M.T., from ITB, and Prof. Christiana Rini Indrati, M.Si, from UGM, assumed the roles of assessors during this period. The field assessment unfolded in a systematic manner, involving various stakeholders such as the faculty acting as the Study Program Management Unit (UPPS), taskforce lecturers, non-taskforce lecturers, education personnel, students, alumni, and other relevant stakeholders. The culmination of the agenda included the signing of minutes that encapsulate the entire process and outcomes of the conducted field assessment.
