Math and Logic Competition (MLC) is an annual national level mathematics competition held by the Mathematics Student Association (HIMATIKA) Universitas Airlangga. MLC was first held in 2004, starting with the name Mathematics Olympiad, which then in 2009 changed to Math and Logic Competition (MLC) which is intended for junior high school / equivalent and high school / equivalent students.
Math and Logic Competition (MLC) 2020 is one of the work programs of the Mathematics Student Association (HIMATIKA) in the scientific field. MLC 2020 was carried out by 136 committees consisting of three batches of S1-Mathematics students, namely batches 2017, 2018, and 2019, with the chief executive Moechammad Syuqron (Mathematics 2017).
This year MLC has entered its 16th year with the theme “Explore The World of Math to be an Intelligent”. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 MLC activity is intended for high school / vocational / MA equivalent students throughout Indonesia and for the first time held online from the preliminary round to the final. The questions tested have gone through a validation process by a team of supervisors, namely, Abdullah Jaelani, S.Si., M.Si., Dra. Inna Kuswandari, M.Si., and Bustomi, S.Si., M.Si.
The preliminary round of the MLC was held on Sunday, October 11, 2020. Starting with remarks and opening of the MLC by Moechammad Syuqron (Mathematics 2017) as the chief executive, Difandi Wahyu H. R (Mathematics 2018) as the chairman of the Mathematics Student Association (HIMATIKA) and Asri Bekti Pratiwi, S.Si., M.Si. as the advisor of the Mathematics Student Association (HIMATIKA) Universitas Airlangga.

Furthermore, participants can take part in the preliminary round through the website (Olympics.id)ujian.mlcunair.com. The preliminary round was attended by approximately 438 teams from various cities in Indonesia and only 40 teams could qualify for the semifinals.
The semifinal round itself was held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 through the virtual room (zoom) media. The jury in charge of the semifinal round was Bustomi, S.Si., M.Si. The teams that can qualify for the final round are the 5 teams with the highest points.
Meanwhile, the final round and awarding will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2020 through the virtual room (zoom) media. The judges in charge of the final round were Abdullah Jaelani, S.Si., M.Si., Asri Bekti Pratiwi, S.Si., M.Si., Siti Zahidah, S.Si., M.Si., and Bustomi, S.Si., M.Si.
In this round, the winner of the 2020 Math and Logic Competition (MLC) was determined. The announcement of the winner of MLC 2020 was made during the awarding through a virtual room (zoom) and broadcasted live via Youtube HIMATIKA UNAIR.
The winners of the 2020 Math and Logic Competition (MLC) are, 1st place on behalf of Haidar Prayata Wirasana and M. Nadhif Arya Rayyan from SMANU MHT Jakarta, 2nd place on behalf of Matthew Osvaldo and Christoffer Edbert Karuniawan from SMAK St. Louis 1 Surabaya, 3rd place on behalf of Tabitha Permalla and Vanesa Abadi from SMAK 3 Penabur Jakarta, 1st Hopeful Champion on behalf of Peter Alexander and Elia Setiawan from SMAK 3 Penabur Jakarta, and 2nd Hopeful Champion on behalf of Muhammad Fadhli Siregar and Azfa Riziq Ritonga from MA Darul Mursyid.
