The Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga, successfully organized the 2022 International Conference on Mathematics, Computational Sciences, and Statistics (ICoMCoS) on October 2nd and 3rd in a hybrid format. This biennial event, chaired by Dr. M. Fariz Fadillah Mardianto, S.Si., M.Sc., encompassed both an International Workshop and Conference. Collaborating with study programs under the auspices of the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga, namely the Mathematics, Information Systems, and Statistics Study Program, the theme of ICoMCoS 2022 was “The Role of Mathematics, Computational Sciences, and Statistics to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals”. The conference gathered speakers renowned for their expertise in these three fields from various countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, UK, Italy, Taiwan, China, Spain, and Bulgaria.

The first day of ICoMCoS featured workshop sessions conducted online, covering Mathematics with Prof. Kamal Z. Zamli from Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Information Systems with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Waidah Ismail from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, and Statistics with Prof. Marc G. Genton, Prof. Harvard Rue, and Dr. Sameh Abdulah from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia. The subsequent day saw the conference activities held in a hybrid manner at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga, commencing with an opening address by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Moh. Yasin, M.Si. Distinguished keynote speakers included Prof. Paulo Canas Rodriguez, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kang-Ming-Chang, and Assoc.
