The Mathematics Study Program initiated a series of Guest Lectures, featuring distinguished lecturers from top international universities, to contribute to the enhancement of Universitas Airlangga’s global engagement. This initiative serves as an effective method for students to acquire new knowledge and experiences, fostering language proficiency and communication skills in foreign languages.

The Guest Lecture event, titled “Protecting Data Beyond Perimeter Security,” took place in person at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) meeting room. Dr. Martianus Frederic Ezerman, an adjunct professor at SPM Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, as well as the CEO and resident cryptographer of Sandhiguna, served as the esteemed resource person.

Held on Monday, June 12, 2023, the event saw the participation of lecturers and students from the Department of Mathematics, encompassing Mathematics, Statistics, and Information Systems Study Programs. Dr. Ezerman also shed light on career opportunities within his organization during the lecture.

Concluding the event, Dr. Herry Suprajitno, M.Si., the Head of the Department of Mathematics, presented tokens of appreciation to the speaker and expressed optimism that this Guest Lecture would mark the beginning of a collaborative partnership between the two entities. This collaboration is envisioned to facilitate ongoing positive relations and the continuation of various tridharma activities in the future.
