As part of the socialization and promotion initiatives for the Mathematics Study Program, a community service program titled “Mathematics Olympiad Development” was conducted. This program coincided with promotional activities, and five students from SMAN 1 Pacitan actively participated. The selected participants for Olympic coaching were students identified by SMAN 1 Pacitan to represent their school in various competitions, particularly Math Olympiads, and expressed a keen interest in pursuing further education in mathematics.

The responsibility for Olympic coaching was assumed by Dr. Eridani, S.Si., M.Si., and Bustomi, S.Si., M.Si., both lecturers in the Mathematics Study Program with expertise in guiding school-level Olympiads. Dr. Eridani provided a brief introduction to the topic, followed by a discussion of related questions. Meanwhile, Bustomi delved directly into the discussion of Mathematics Olympiad questions and their solutions. The participants displayed evident enthusiasm during the instruction, as reflected in their expressions and animated responses to the presented material.

The Principal of SMAN 1 Pacitan expressed gratitude for the coaching activities extended to his students, stating, “I sincerely hope for a continuation of this Olympiad coaching.” UNAIR responded by expressing interest in future collaborations between SMAN 1 Pacitan and the Mathematics Study Program, particularly in the establishment of Mathematics Olympiads.

The Mathematics Study Program has actively engaged in various Olympic coaching sessions as part of community service at MAN Batu, MA Assa’adah, and SMA Assa’adah Gresik. Additionally, the UNAIR Mathematics Olympiad activist team consistently contributes to coaching OSN delegations from East Java participating at the national level.

Dr. Eridani, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, UNAIR, who was also present at the occasion, emphasized, “If there are schools seeking guidance in Mathematics Olympiad, we are very open to collaboration.”
