Students, regarded as agents of change, bear the responsibility not only to enhance their academic competencies but also to make significant contributions to society. One of the examples is the establishment of job opportunities. Semicolon stands as a testament to students’ contributions to the realm of entrepreneurship.

Founded by four students from Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), namely Muhammad Wildan A. H. from the Information Systems study program, along with Rima Novela, Siti Nur Azizah, and Maliky Syailendra H. S. from the Mathematics study program, this venture was conceptualized during the 2022 Human Digital Entrepreneurship Innovation (IWDM) event and subsequently secured funding from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek). Significantly, the KMI Expo event featured during this occasion afforded every funded business the chance to present their products and compete for the prestigious champion title.

The primary objective of Semicolon is to establish a dedicated platform for the younger generation to delve deeper into technology, particularly fundamental programming techniques. In addition to imparting programming knowledge, Semicolon offers personalized mentoring and career guidance to participants at specific intervals. “Semicolon operates as a startup within the education sector, focusing on programming training,” remarked Maliky during the KMI Expo event.

Under the mentorship of Asri Bekti Pratiwi S.Si., M.Si., a lecturer from the Mathematics Study Program, the team aspires that the establishment of this venture will significantly benefit the younger generation, particularly students, in their career preparation within the domains of programming and computing. “We aim to address Indonesia’s demand for skilled professionals in the information and technology field,” expressed their hopeful sentiment.
